A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Young's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church for Jerry Wayne Johnson, 75, of Gadsden, Ala., who died on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013. The Rev. Norlan Scrudder will officiate.

He was a Goodyear Tire & Rubber retiree with more than 32 years of service. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved antique cars and served as president of the Gadsden Antique Auto Club. He was a longtime member of Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Ernestine Hedgecock Johnson; parents, Elmer Love and Ina Day Johnson; sister, Aileen Taylor; brothers, Robert, Ray, William "Butch" and Bryant Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Marzette Jones Johnson; children, Steven Johnson (Stephanie), Jill Green (Michael), Douglas Johnson (Joan), and Jeanne Edge (Joe); and stepchildren, Jarrod and Ben Jones and Natalie Rickett (Eddie). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew, Steven "Parker" and Connor Johnson, Meighan Cranmer (Ben), Taylor Johnson (Alice) and Zachary Johnson; and great-grandchild, Zoe Cranmer.
The service will celebrate his life, and although flowers are appreciated, the family would ask donors to consider a memorial gift to Young's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The gift can be mailed to 114 Lawson Mill Road, Kingston, TN 37763.
