John Collins, 77, of Kingston, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at his home.

He was a lifetime member and deacon of Trenton Street Baptist Church. He retired as general manager of Pattersons Appliances after 27 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as a radio operator. He was preceded in death by parents, Virgil Paul and Lorena Wyatt Collins; and sister, June "Tootie" Austin.
Survived by wife, Nancy Collins, Kingston; daughters, Cheryl Collins, Kingston, and Sandy Norman, Lenoir City; sons, Brian Collins, Tampa, Fla., and Steve Collins and wife Sherry, Knoxville; grandchildren, Ashley Harrington and husband Brian, Nashville, Lindsay Baggett and husband Jason, Nashville, Amelia Taylor and husband Charlie, Kingston, Erin Collins, Tampa, Hayden and Tyler Keller; and great-grandchildren, Zoe and Cooper Harrington.
Funeral was at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, in Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman, with the Rev. Mason Goodman officiating. Burial will be at Roane Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday prior to service. www.kykerfuneralhome.com
