Lloyd H. "Bud" Morris Jr., 69, of Kingston, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.

He proudly served his country 10 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the College of The Desert, Palm Desert, Calif., and University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He retired after 40 years of service with the U.S. Government. He was also a member of Rockwood United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sr. and Ila Rae Morris; and brother, Terry Morris.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Shirley Morris, Kingston; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Ed Horner, Ringgold, Ga.; son, Brad Morris, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; grandchildren, Mitchell and Maclaine Horner, Andrew and Bella Morris; sister and brother-in-law, June and Willard Brooks, Franklin, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Greta Morris, Oakdale; several nieces and nephews; and many very special friends.
The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in Rockwood United Methodist Church. Funeral services followed at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in Rockwood United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fred Hammer officiating. Graveside services and burial were at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood, with military honors by the Marine Corps Reserve. Memorial contributions may be made to either Rockwood United Methodist Church, 801 N. Kingston Ave., Rockwood, TN 37854; or the Marine Corps League, Knoxville, TN.
