Louise A. Smith, 81, of Harriman, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. Smith Jr.; son, Lee Smith; parents, Clyde and Edith Sheets; and brother, Clifford Sheets.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by daughter, Brenda Tilley (Tom), Harriman; daughter-in-law, Ketta Smith, Harriman; son, Ronnie (Debbie), North Carolina; son, Terry (Candy), Harriman; brother, Pat Sheets (Linda), Sevierville; and sister Sherry Hamilton (Johnny), Rockwood, both of whom she raised after the death of their parents; and sister Nancy Marler, Evensville. She had 16 grandchildren, Brent Tilley (Rhonda), Kendra Jones (Cody), Virginia Adams (Derek), Jennifer Williams (Jordan), Amy Tejeda (Joe), Jamie Smith (Julia), Cruise Smith, Carly Harrison (Matt), Tyler Sheets, Trevor Sheets (Cara), Sarah Wilson (Trevor), Suzanne Frost, Lindsey Glasper (Anthony), Katie Clapp (Scott), Allison Kirby (Dakota) and Renee Gilmore (Thomas); 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
She was a faithful member of Big Emory Baptist Church for 58 years and loved attending worship services there. She was a Christian who loved her Lord and demonstrated to her family and friends the love and acceptance of Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, with a graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at Roane Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Neil Crass officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Emory Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 227, Harriman, TN 37748.
