Mary Bell Ruth, 90, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2013, in Renaissance Terrace nursing home.

She was a longtime member of Kingston First Baptist Church. She was an active member of Daughters of American Revolution for more than 30 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a nature lover, an avid gardener and a fantastic chef. She was a strong Christian woman with a positive personality who was endearing to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, James P. Bell and Rosa Bell; brothers, Jack, Judge, David and Floyd Bell; and sister, Joan Bradley.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lorry Ruth Sr.; daughter Jane Ruth Haynes; sons, Lorry Ruth Jr; Henry Ruth II and Terry Ruth; grandchildren, Ron Ruth, Rob Haynes, Renae Black and Melody von Schalkwyk; great-grandchildren, Hunter Haynes, Samantha Black, Merisa von Schalkwyk and Christian von Schalkwyk; sisters Betty Bell Hudson, Thelma Bell Ducharme, Dorthy Bell Gillenwater, Nina Bell Davis and Linda Jane Bell Williams; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Lynnhurst Chapel, Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 W. Adair Drive, Knoxville, and was immediately followed by graveside service at Lynn hurst Cemetery, 2300 W. Adair Drive, Knoxville. Flowers may be sent to Kyker Funeral Home, 3500 W.
