Pauline Meeks Moore, 86, of Erwin, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Hermitage Healthcare in Elizabethton.
A native of Erwin, Pauline is a daughter of the late J. B. and Mattie Woodly Meeks. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Kingston. Pauline loved to take care of people and enjoyed cooking and making Christmas candy. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death her husband, George Washington Moore; three brothers; and four sisters.
Pauline Meeks Moore has left behind to cherish her memory sons, Jack Moore and wife Kathy, Erwin, and Jerry Moore and wife Linda, Hope, Ark.; grandchildren, Adam Moore and wife Gina, Washington state, Jacob Moore and wife Crystal, Johnson City, Dale Combs, Cabool, Mo., Robert Ball and wife Cindy, Clarksville, and Eddie Haynes and wife Sherry, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Randy Miller Jr., Georgia, Fallon Clack and husband Caleb, Georgia, Heather Ball, Killeen, Texas, Chad Lewis, Utah, Olivia Moore, Washington state, Eva Mae Moore, Johnson City, Adeline Moore, Johnson City, and Justice Robinson, Trenton Combs and Ashlyn Combs, all of Cabool; great-great-grandchildren, Joey Ball, Texas, and Charleigh Clack, Georgia; best friend, Anna Ruth Roberts, Roane County; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Hermitage Healthcare and Caris Healthcare for their love and care during this difficult time.
A funeral service was held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home, Erwin. Pastor Ben Moore officiated. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family began at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, and will continue until the hour of service at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Fairview Cemetery, Kingston. The Rev. Adrian Jones will officiate graveside services. Those attending will meet at Fairview Cemetery by 1:50 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Childhood Autism Foundation, 1551 Shoup Court, Decatur, GA 30033.
