Ralph Wayne Ray Jr.
Ralph Wayne Ray Jr., 46, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, in University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville surrounded by his wife and family.
He was born Aug. 11, 1965 in Sweetwater. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family camping, fishing, loving life and nature. He was an artist, designing many large paintings, one of which was a mural for the Michael Dunn Center. He loved playing with his grandchildren and treasured each day spent with them. He enjoyed attending Southwest Point Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Wayne Ray Sr.; his mother, Shirley Carroll Leach; and his grandmother, Elsie M. Hill Carroll.
Survivors include his loving wife, Leisa P. Ray, Kingston; seven sons, John Travis Burnett, Harriman, Ralph Wayne Ray III, Cleveland, Kevin Anthony Ray, Harriman, Joey Charles Ray, Harriman, Tyler Austin Ray, Rockwood, Jason Aydelot and wife Anna, Oak Ridge, and Dustin Porter, Kingston; a daughter, Tiffany Porter, Kingston; his stepfather, Greg Leach Sr., Kingston; two half-brothers, Barry Ray, Lexington, Ky., and Greg Leach Jr. and wife Becky, Kingston; three half-sisters, Yevonna Bass, Lexington, Beverly Crass, Lexington, and Denise Leach, Kingston; his mother-in-law, Ester Bacon, Kingston; two brothers-in-law, Randy Soard and wife Darcy, Kingston, and Eddie Soard and wife Angela, Kingston; 13 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in Southwest Point Baptist Church, with funeral service following at 8 p.m., with the Rev. Larry Bolden officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, for a graveside service at Midway Cemetery. Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, is in charge of arrangements.
