Richard Allen, 83, of Florence, Ala., passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at his residence.

He was of the Methodist faith, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 11, Masonic Lodge 14, Scottish Rite 32nd degree, member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter Alabama 63, and retired from Reynolds Aluminum.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, in Greenview Funeral Home, Florence. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating was Jerry Campbell. Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Greenview Memorial Park, with military funeral honors at graveside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Martha Allen; two brothers, Burton and Ernest Allen; and a sister, Margaret Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy "Judy" Allen, Florence; three daughters, Debra Cisson (James), Killen, Ala., Patricia Kennedy (Butch), Rockwood, and Lisa Garner (Jeff), Florence; sister-in-law, Mildred Allen, Kingston; five grandchildren, Damien Cisson (Kalee), Ian Cisson (Dani), Melissa Kennedy, Jacob Garner and Cierra Harrell; three great-grandchildren, Halley and Skyler Cisson and McKenlee Hines; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Damien Cisson, Ian Cisson, Jacob Garner, Butch Kennedy, Jeff Garner, and Andrew Suddith. Skyler Cisson served as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Hospice of the Shoals, 115 Fairground Road, Florence, AL. 35630; or Bethel Berry Church of Christ c/o Betty Wooten, 7690 County Road 259, Florence, AL 35633.
