Ronnie Lee Shubert, 58, loving father, brother, uncle and friend, after a long battle with cancer went home to be with his Savior on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He attended Thompson Springs Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He liked to garden and enjoyed lending a hand to those who needed his help.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lindsey and Mary Lee Shubert; three brothers, Donald Ray Shubert, Charles Shubert and Bobby Joe Shubert; two sisters, Virginia Maxine Shubert and Donna Fay Shubert; a sister-in-law, Beulah Faye Shubert; two brothers-in-law, Dewey Lewallen and Bill Davis.
He is survived by two children, Ronnie Lee Shubert Jr. and wife Andrea "Nikki," Pikeville, and Calvin Lindsey Shubert, Virginia; three stepgrandchildren, Danielle and Michael Cagle and Brandon Beebe, all of Pikeville; brother, Lester Gene Shubert, Old Fort; five sisters, Edna Ruth Davis, Kingston, Ellene Lewallen, Mary and husband Tony Hernandez, Barbara Roberts and husband Homer; and twin sister, Connie Dobbs and husband James, all of Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Opal Shubert, Texas, and Patsy Shubert, Cleveland; several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in Ralph Buckner Funeral Home chapel, Cleveland, with the Rev. Kevin Teague and the Rev. Homer Roberts officiating. Burial was at Mars Hill Cemetery, Kingston, with Kyle Roberts, Jamie Dobbs, Scotty Hernandez, Ricky Lewallen, Jackie Prince and Brian Neely serving as pallbearers. His remaining nephews were honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony concluded the service.
The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the funeral home.
