Sally Ray, 92, of Harriman, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, in The Bridge at Rockwood.

She was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Kingston to Harrison F. and Minnie Easter Schubert. She was a charter member of Swan Pond Baptist Church and was raised and went to school in the Wheat community. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifton G. Ray; daughter, Mary Ann Whalen; son, James William Schubert; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lucas and Braden; brothers, Charles, Newell, Clifford, Franklin, George and James; and sister, Mary.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda G. "Boobie" Frisbee, Harriman, and "Sookie" Gross and husband Michael, Rockwood; sister, Ida Nelson, Harriman; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifelong host of many friends.
Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Swan Pond Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside service. Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested to Evans Mortuary for funeral expenses.
