Stewart Clinton "Sonny" Stinnett, 73, of Midtown, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, in James H. Quillen Veterans Medical Center.
He was a member of the Church of the Mighty God in Midtown. He was retired after serving 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary Jo Stinnett.
Survivors include wife, Patricia Ann Stinnett, Harriman; son, James M. Stinnett, Sweetwater; grandson, Joshua Clinton Stinnett; grandchildren Harley Nicole and Robert Joseph Vandervoort; great-grandchild, Kylie Ahna Swanson; sister, Betty Thomas, Double Springs, Ala.; brother, Pete Stinnett, Harriman; stepmother, Geneva Stinnett; and beloved friends, Carol and Doug Hunt.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in Church of the Mighty God, with Pastor Arvil Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweetwater. Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston, is in charge of arrangements. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
