William "Pete" Wright, 80, an honored member of the Rockwood community and Rockwood City Councilman, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

He was born April 24, 1934 in Davidson County to William Perry Wright Sr. and Ruby Mae Weaver Wright. Mr. Wright was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Rockwood and loved to sing in the church choir. He was the former personnel and plant manager with Roane Electric Furnace for over 20 years and was an affiliate broker with Roane Realty since 1998. As a member of the Rockwood City Council, he served on the Finance Committee and on the Rockwood Water and Sewer Board. He also served on the Roane County Board of Zoning. "Pete" served as the past president of Rockwood Country Club and Golf Course and Rockwood Civitan Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lucille Wright; daughter, Teresa Tackett; brother, Bob Wright; and sister, Nancy Bond.
Survivors include wife, Jenny Wright; children, Kathy Hall, Doug Wright, Les Willett, Laura Mater and Eric Willett; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers, Hatton Wright and Ronnie Wright.
The family received friends from noon to 3 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 3, in First Presbyterian Church, 429 W. Rockwood St., Rockwood, TN 37854. Funeral services followed at 3 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 3, in First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Charles Snodgrass officiating. Graveside services and interment followed at Haley's Grove Cemetery in Crab Orchard. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church (Choir Fund), P.O. Box 42, Rockwood, TN 37854.
