Anna D. "Bitsy" Clifton, 89, of Rockwood, passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at The Bridge at Rockwood.

She was born June 5, 1925, on the Liggett Farm in Cumberland County to John Nelson Donelson Jr. and Jennie Edith Taylor Donelson. Mrs. Clifton was a member of the Rockwood Church of Christ and the Crab-Orchard Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Cumberland County. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Eugene "Bill" Clifton; and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Susan K. Clifton, Louisville, and David and Pat Clifton, Rockwood; grandchildren, Michelle Clifton Kelley and husband Troy, Rockwood, Mike Clifton and fiancÃ© Luv Curbow, Rockwood, Christy Clifton, Plano, Texas, and Keith Clifton, Fort Worth, Texas; great-grandchildren, Tanner McGuire, Michaela McGuire and Trey Kelley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, from the chapel of Evans Mortuary with Minister Kirby Hinds officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillbrook Christian Camp.
