Peggy 'Swint' Nitzschke, 64, of Wartburg, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 2, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Mae Stringfield and Pearl Stringfield; and brothers, M.H. Stringfield and Roy Stringfield.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Richey Crass, Oliver Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Missy Swint, Wartburg; grandbabies, Rick and Brooke Crass, Oliver Springs, Austin and Alex Swint, Wartburg; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean and Archie Swint, Patsy Melton, all of Wartburg; special nieces, Tammy Norman, Rockwood, Brenda Bales, Wartburg; several other nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a well-known cook in the community and her door was always open to anyone wanting to come in and eat. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services followed at 8 p.m. with the Revs. Charles Webb and Tim Hamby officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Wartburg City Cemetery.
