Ralph Inslee Deaderick was born in Knoxville on Aug. 13, 1915. He died at his home in Kingston on Monday, May 27, 2013.

His mother was Marguerite Miller Deaderick, and his father was David Anderson Deaderick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann Wilkinson Deaderick; and sister, Rosanna Deaderick Bounds.
He attended Berea College and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 1943, he moved to Oak Ridge and worked as a mechanical engineer for Y-12 and K-25. He was an avid bird watcher, loved boat and airplane travel, enjoyed the opera and read much about the Civil War and World War I.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Deaderick Mulvany and husband John Mulvany, and Martha Ann Deaderick; granddaughters, Martha Ellen Mulvany and Maureen Judith Mulvany; great-granddaughters, Florence Inslee Winchester and Viola Frances Winchester; nieces, Patsy Bounds Nagle and Janet Wilkinson Nagle; and nephew, Bill Clark Wilkinson.
