Betty Jo Hill, 78, of Kingston, died Monday, June 17, 2013, in Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Born in Devonia, she was the daughter of the late James Ruben and Bess Lee Baird Cook. She was a graduate of Rockwood High School and was a member of the Honor Society. She and her husband, Jessie Lindsay, moved from Elyria, Ohio, to the Kingston community 14 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Elyria First Assembly of God. She was also an active member for many years in TOPS of Elyria, Oak Ridge and Kingston.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jessie Lindsay Hill, Kingston; son, Ron Hill (Cynthia), Oberlin, Ohio; daughters, Donna Dutton (Henry), Wellington, Ohio, Linda Grimmett (Charles), Amherst, Ohio, and Rhonda Higgins (Kevin), Ball Ground, Ga.; brother, Buddy Cook, Plant City, Fla.; sister Dinia Burnett, Rockwood; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, in Vaughn Funeral Home chapel, Spring City, with Dr. Melvin Yeich officiating. Burial will follow at Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 24, in the funeral home. www.vaughn-funeral-home.com
