Thank you to all who have made entries in this guest book. We appreciate the kind words about our mother and your expressions of sympathy and support for us. Thanks, too, to all those who sent cards or memorial contributions, came to the service (in person or in spirit), or stopped by to see us and the "big tree." Love to you all, Susan and family

Dear Beth,
I want to tell you how sad I am to hear that you have lost your Mother. I knew your Father from my student days at Tech ROTC...he was a mighty fine man who inspired me. I recall your days at BHS, a bundle of joy and happiness you portrayed and wish the best for you and your family. It is difficult to lose our parents but knowing of their faith in God makes it bearable. God bless you, Beth.

Dear Susan,
I'm so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. Even though she has been ill a long time, it is still hard. It sounded like she lived a fairly active life almost up until the last few years. Your mother was really fortunate that you and your sister were able to make arrangements so she could stay in her own home for all these years. She certainly lived a long active life, one that will provide you with many fond memories for years to come.
Thinking of you,
Julia Oliver

Dear Family-
What a "lady" your mother/grandmother was. I am the person who followed her after her husband died. She was the epitome of a southern lady in her graiousness and charm. I looked forward to my visits wiht her and she always thanked me by letter for coming by.

Susan and Beth,
You are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate the wonderful life of your dear mother. We have something in common; my husband was also born in Wise County, VA. I'm sorry I will not be in Blacksburg for her service since I am away for a month.

I am sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in our Creator's words at Psalm 86:6,7 that he hears those who mourn and he is there to help you through your loss.
