
Carl (Jack, XX45) Jackson Fowler, 80, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moffitt "Buck" Sr. and Edith Fowler; the love of his life, his wife, Daisy Marie Crouch Fowler; brother, Moffitt O. Fowler Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn F. and Bill Brown; and special friend, Sydney Tolley. Jack was an
Army Veteran, serving during the
Korean War, a member of the
VFW, and a member of American Legion Post 93. A lifetime member of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department, he served as Assistant Chief. He was co-owner of Robertson-Fowler Construction Co. for over 69 years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Mike Hedrick of Buchanan; sons, Lynwood "Bull" Fowler and special friend, Kathy Guerra, of Buchanan; David "CJ" Fowler and special friend, Teressa Ransone, of Vinton; grandchildren, Joshua Fowler Reed, Megan Marie Reed, Carla Olivia Spangler, Michaela Daisy Hedrick, Baleigh SueAnn Hedrick, Jessica Marie Fowler, and Kelsey Giles; special friend, Peggy Giles, of Buchanan; sisters, Ellen Marie and Charles M. Alford, of Glasgow; Barbara F. and Richard Sarver, of Roanoke; Martha F. and Paul W. Monaghan, of Daleville; brothers, James A. and Roena Fowler, of Buchanan; Charles E. "Bud" and Peggy Fowler, of Natural Bridge; Thomas L. and Brenda Fowler, of Buchanan; and John M. Fowler, of Buchanan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many special friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer and the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating.
