Evelyn Agnes Lorman Mayo, 95 of Roanoke, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and support of her family on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter C. Mayo; brothers, Melvin and Elmer Lorman and her sister, Florence Bauer. Evelyn is survived by her children, Ed Mayo, of Fort Worth, Texas, Chas Mayo and his wife, Diane, of Sylvania, Ohio and Patricia Connelly and her husband, Kip, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Michele Mayo Davis and her husband, Kevin, Jennifer Mayo-Laton and her husband, Jonathon, Brian Mayo and his wife, Nicole, Allison Mayo, Theresa Bayrer-DiVito and her husband, Larry, Tom Bayrer and his wife, Kelly; great-grandchildren, Marissa Moore, Regan Davis, Brennan and Nolan Bayrer.
In earlier years, Evelyn enjoyed caring for her family, playing golf with her husband, Walter, gardening, reading and crocheting. She loved traveling with her husband and doting on her grandchildren. Special thanks to Ida Wright, Gerald Carter and the special caregivers and friends of Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehab staff.
No prior visitation. A memorial service celebrating Evelyn's life will be held at noon on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Second Presbyterian Church, 214 Mountain Avenue, Roanoke with Dr. George Anderson officiating.
