Geneva Pruitt Gauldin, 87, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012. She was a life member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Vinton Ward and was retired from C & P Telephone Company as a Chief Operator. She was also a member of the ABWA where she held several offices and also the Women of the Moose
, Roanoke. She loved to travel and was an avid bingo player and QVC watcher. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and generous and kind person to everyone. Surviving family includes her loving husband of 68 years, Claude S. Gauldin Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Claude S. III "Ozzie" and Sandy Gauldin; daughter, Susanne Payne; sisters, Evelyn Norsworthy, of California and Lois Toler, of Danville; grandchildren, Melissa Capps and Angela Payne; great-grandchildren, Jessie Peters and wife, Alisha, Jaime Plunkett, and Aaron Capps; great-great-grandchild, Abby Peters; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Mr. Harry Farley officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
