Irvin Willard Perdue, 78, of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Radford, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was born in Montgomery County to Charlie James and Ola Howery Perdue. He was a United States Army
veteran, and retired from Roanoke Electric Steel. He was a member of American Legion #129-Carolina Beach. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Norma Jean Viars Perdue; and a daughter, Sharon Chandler. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Bruce Orange, of Dublin, and Lori Ann Perdue, of Wilmington, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Karen Perdue, of Pilot; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Hypes and Shirley Akers, both of Blacksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with the Rev. John Tibbs officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
