In the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection, Oscar Littleton ("Lit"-"Skip") Nance Jr., entered the Church Triumphant on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Lit was born November 15, 1920, to the late Oscar Littleton Nance and Hettie Whitlow Nance. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School, an employee of the former Norfolk & Western Railway (now Norfolk Southern) for 39 years, and an Army
Veteran of World War II
for three years. He was a long time member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Brooks Campbell Nance; three siblings, Sara Lee Nance Allen, Millard Frederick Nance and Robert Edward Nance. He is survived by his sister, Mildred Louise Nance Bryson, of Roanoke, Va.; also two step-daughters, Carol Ann Campbell Lajoie (Mrs. Richard Lajoie), of Conway, S.C., and Linda Sue Campbell Hewitt, of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; sister-in-law, Billie Jean Henritze Nance (Mrs. R. Edward), of Richmond; some step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren; also some nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Burial Park at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, officiated by the Rev. Milton Marks of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church.
