Virginia Lucille (Shorty) Williams, 83, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013. She was born May 17, 1929, to the late Walter and Grace Ewers Williams. Lucille was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Williams and Dan Williams; and nephew, Perry Williams. She is survived by her brother, John Thomas Williams and wife, Sue, of Roanoke; and her sister, Joyce Morgan and husband, Ronald, of Craig County; sister-in-law, Yvonne Williams, of Roanoke; and nieces, Becky, Christine, Diana and Susie; nephews, Billy, Mike, Tim and Tommy; and her many friends.
Lucille was an employee at Kenrose Manufacturing and later retired from Halmode's Dress Apparel. For many years she was a volunteer at the Adult Day Care in Salem and later became a participant.
Lucille loved her family and she also loved the many friends she had, especially everyone at the Adult Day Care in Salem.
Per Lucille's wishes, private funeral services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens for family only.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Lewis Gale Hospital; the staff at Richfield Recovery and Care Center for their excellent care of Lucille; Good Samaritan Hospice for their compassion and care and to caregivers, Kelly and Holly, for their love and care of Lucille.
