To Frank and all my Hudson cousins (she and my Dad, J.D., were first cousins) my condolences and blessings to you. Edith was a fine Southern lady who always put family first. She was a sweet woman who was always there to help a neighbor or friend.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My dear Darlene and family,
I am very sorry for the loss of Mrs.Edith. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. I hope you get through this trying time and try to remember that God is good all the time and the Lord has a beautiful mansion for her up on a green hill somewhere and she is dancing with the angels in peace. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask, I love you and will be thinking of you often, Godspeed my friend and may Mrs. Edith rest peacefully.

I am so thankful that Natalie and I got to come to Roanoke several weeks ago to see Edith. She was feeling good and laughing and we had a great time with her. We tried to go back through the family tree and think of names and places and I learned a lot about our genealogy that I never knew. I will always treasure that experience. She made breakfast for us right before we left to come back to Pittsburgh...the usual Edith breakfast with biscuits, gravy, eggs, and all the trimmings. The last time I came to Moneta, we talked about fried apple pies...she was such a good cook and I happened to mention how much I loved her pies... to my surprise, when I got back to Pittsburgh, I received fried pies by express mail from Edith...they were delicious, a little flat but delicious....she always loved on me, sent me birthday cards and gifts, called to check up on me...I felt like she was taking care of me because she knew that my Mom would love it...I am so sorry I couldn't be there for the funeral, but I will always have great memories of our last visit and times that I got to be with her.
I know what it is like to lose a mate after many, many years of marriage and I know Frank will need all the support and love that we can give....not to mention the loss that the children will feel. Frank gave me away at my wedding. Edith and Frank were always so welcoming to me and our family. Edith always gave of herself so unselfishly and lovingly. She cooked a lot of meals and was a gracious hostess..always a loving, faithful, wife and mother. I will miss her so much even though I didn't get to see her very often. It's like another little part of my own Mom has gone to heaven. I can't wait to get there and serve the Lord together with them forever.
My love to all the family...I will be there with you in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Greer Tate, Pittsburgh, PA - 107 Olde Ingomar Ct, Pgh, PA 15237

I am so very sorry you are going through this most diffucult time. One of the things I remember most about Edith is that she loved people. She always opened her heart and home to everyone the family brought home. Your home was a gathering place filled with love and laughter. I cherish many fond memories of times spent with Edith and you all. May God's love and comfort surround you today and in the days to come.
Love,
