Mary Melissa Stevens

Mary Melissa (Warren) Stevens, 94, formerly of Rocky Mount, Va., died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra, Pa. She was born on Thursday, June 8, 1916, in Franklin County to the late Confederate Army Veteran, Lt. James P. Warren and Fannie (Dent) Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester F. Stevens; their son, James H. Stevens II; and her brother, Paul D. Warren. Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia K. Clark and husband, Steven, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Ruth Rosenshine and husband, Michael, of Elizabethtown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Rebekah Weiman and husband, Robert, Faith Peluso and husband, Michael, Janet Rosenshine and Steven Rosenshine; five greatgrandchildren, Molly Anne, Margaret Louise, Lorlelei Rose, William F.M. Weiman and Angel Marie Peluso; a nephew, James E. Warren and wife, Christine; and a greatniece, Phyllis A. Warren. Mrs. Stevens was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church at Sydnorsville and a leader of the Kate Brown Sunday School Class for many years. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010, from Flora Funeral Chapel, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151, with the Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Good Samaritan Fund, Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, Pa. 17078.
