Jerry,
You were always a great person to be around. You were funny, goofy, smart, and you were welcoming, and loving and caring to my family and I. You were absolutely the most wonderful grandfather to my babies; Mckynzee, Kylei and AJ. They love you oh so very much Jerry. I appreciate you being there for my kids and I wouldnt have wanted anyone else. YOU ARE THEIR PAPOOL ALWAYS AND FOREVER! No one else fills that spot, no one. We told the kids. They werent happy. They asked millions of questions, Where is he?, Is he hurt?.. we told them, "You're gonna see papool again one day, God promises that." Mckynzee slept with your picture. They love you so much J-Dawg! Andy and I love you! I want to thank you Jerry for treating my mother the way shes been longing to be treated!! Thank you for being her knight! I thank you for being the awesome man that are! I thank you for your selflessness and your LOVE. We love you Jerry Wayne Roope always and forever. Not goodbye, only love, not goodbye, just see-you-laters.
xoxoxoxo, Andy, Ashley, Kynzee, LeeLee, and Toe-head (AJ)

Jerry, still can't believe you're gone, way too early. You went through a lot in your short life, but you always had a positive attitude and always treated everyone with respect. Linda and I were so happy for you when you and Kim moved to Virginia, something I know you wanted to do for a long time. I know you're in a better place but it's really hard for for all of us living without you. RIP my friend and brother in law, you will be missed....love you buddy!

Jerry was the baby in our family and we all loved him so much. He grew up to be a very kind and caring man. I am so thankful that we was by brother and that he was in my life as long as he was. He had many good friends and it helps to see the kind words people have written about him. My son James Holland Jr. was especially close to him. They had many things in common. He will be missed so much by a lot of people. I was able to spend a few days with him and his wife Kim at their new home In Martinsville, Va the week before he passed. For this I will be forever grateful. Love you Jerry and I know we will be together again someday.

I grew up with Jerry in Colunbus ,Ohio. I lived right down the street. We played baseball, football, basketball all through elementary,Junior High and at Columbus North. We hunted and fished constantly. On weekends I stayed at his house more than mine he was a great friend. As we grew older , I don't know why but we kinda grew apart, for that I am truly sorry. I still consider his friendship one of the best parts of my childhood. When I read this, this morning, it hurt like I was still right down the street. My prayers and thoughts are with his friends and family. Ralph Frair columbus Ohio

Back in the '80's I worked with Jerry at JC Penneys. There was a group of us that would hang out at Little Sicily's after work. I will always remember the good times we had with Jerry. My prayers are with all your family and friends.
See ya around Jerry :)
