Oneeta Coble Obituary

A good and faithful servant of God on Max Creek, Va., Oneeta Quesenberry Coble was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hiwassee on June 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Essie Owens Coble. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Henry Roy "Buck" Coble; sisters, Frieda Graham, Edith Wilson and Dorothy Kirkner; and brothers, Emmett, Guy, Early and Herbert Quesenberry. Mrs. Coble was a retired sales clerk from Parks-Belk Department Store in Pulaski. She was a charter member of Max Creek Baptist Church for over 63 years, having served as Treasurer for 50 years. She was presently a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church on Max Creek. She was a true inspiration to all, especially in light of her many trials and tribulations. The love of God poured out to everyone she touched through her gentle, humble heart. Her genuine sacrificial care and concern of others was evident through her many deeds of kindness whether it be a phone call, a card, a pot of chicken and dumplings, or her famous devil's food cake. Her love, her prayers, her wise counsel, her encouragement and her service to her community will be greatly missed by her beloved family, church family and friends. Surviving are her children and spouses, Diane and Roger Hurd, Terry and Cathy W. Coble, and Gary and Dawn Coble, all of Pulaski, and Russell and Rebecca Coble, of Floyd; sister, Eloise Q. Smith; sister-in-law, Margaret W. Quesenberry; brother-in-law, Homer Coble; 14 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, from the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Ballew and Pastor Mike Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. from the church. In remembrance of Oneeta Coble those that wish, may make contributions to the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church, P.O. Box 326, Hiwassee, Va. 24347. Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.

When I think of "Aunt Neet" I think of a little white house in front of a big, tall mountain inhabited by a precious, sweet lady with a gigantic heart.....I loved her and will truly miss her soft, sweet spirit. I'm sure her brothers and sisters (especially my Dad) are rejoicing at her arrival in heaven...The love and prayers of my family go out to all of her wonderful family. .....Regina Quesenberry McMillian

Russell to you and all your family members, I know what you all are going through. What got me through my mother's death was that I know through faith with Jesus Christ I will see my mother again one day in Heaven. I kept telling myself that everything is for a reason and God is in control. One other thing is that your mother is not suffering now, she is with her Lord in Heaven. I am very sorry I will not be able to come to the viewing or the funeral as I am out of town this week-end but your family will be in my prayers. May God bless each one of you.
