Cindy Dalton Obituary

Cindy Moles Dalton of Meadows of Dan went, to join Kenneth, her beloved husband of 22 years, on Sunday, May 30, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her father, James Moles. Cindy will be deeply missed by her and Kenneth's son, Zachary James Dalton. In addition, she is survived by her mother and stepfather, Mary Sue Moles and Gary Terry, of Rocky Mount, Va.; brothers, Kenny Moles and wife, Constance, of Mount Airy, N.C., Darrell Moles, of Pulaski; sisters, Joyce Moles Hawks and husband, Dale, of Mount Airy, N.C., Judy Moles Haden and husband, Gary, of Woolwine; father and mother-in-law, Owen and Lois Dalton, of Meadows of Dan; sisters and brother-in-law, Lora Epperly, Alan and Molly Dalton, Mary and Tommy Tabor, Connie and Brad Bryant, Cathy and Randy Lindsey; nieces and nephews, Samantha Dollyhite, Tabatha Stanley, Christopher Haden, Rodney Mills, Caroline Merz, Tracy Motes, Katlyn Epperly, Emily Dalton, Grace Dalton, Thomas Tabor, Jake Tabor, Austin Lindsey, Connor Lindsey; devoted friends Bob and Jewel Spencer, Charles Shelor, James Ray Phillips, and Teresa Tucker.
Cindy was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, and a warm and cherished friend. She never met a stranger. Cindy was a long-time employee of the Mount Airy News where she worked as a graphic artist and Information Technology Specialist. Most recently, she was employed by Professional Networks, in Galax.
Growing up, Cindy was an avid horseback rider. She was co-owner of Sunset Farms, where she worked along side Kenneth in every aspect of their operations. She was proud of the fact she could do anything on the farm with Kenneth's guidance.
Kenneth and Cindy were blessed with an exceptional son, Zachary. He will carry on the special gifts of his parents including their love of the land, music, and family.
In respect of Cindy's wishes, a graveside service will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 3400 Terry's Mill Road in Meadows of Dan with Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Visitation immediately following at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zachary Dalton Education Fund, the Laurel Fork Volunteer Rescue Squad, or the Laurel Fork Volunteer Fire Department. Contributions to the Education Fund may be made at any Surrey Bank & Trust branch office or mailed to Bob Spencer, Custodian, 424 Park Bridge, Meadows of Dan, Va. 24120. I played with Cindy when we were kids at my Great Grandfather Moles'. As a child they were some of my fondest memories. We had not seen each other in years, but I had talked to her by phone a few years ago and we were looking forward to the next Moles family reunion.
