Steven Covill Obituary

Steven Lee Covill, 55, of Pearisburg, Va., and Rural Retreat, Va., departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born on February 18, 1955, in Christiansburg, he was a son of the late Robert Franklin and Pauline Maxey Covill. He had been employed at Ethan Allen Furniture Plant in Dublin and was a veteran of the United States Navy, and was a member of Ingram Village United Methodist Church. An infant brother, Keith Edward Covill, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Jimmy Sutphin, of Rural Retreat, and Donna and Donnie Wimmer, of Eggleston; his brother, Jerry Franklin Covill, of Rural Retreat; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the McClaugherty Cemetery at Clendennin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, June 30, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by American Legion Posts #311 Pembroke, #68 Narrows, #145 Peterstown and VFW Post #6000 Narrows.
