Junior Eugene Keffer

Junior Eugene Keffer, 80, of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 18, 2010 from his home with his family by his side. He was born March 4, 1930 at White Gate, Va. the son of the late Christopher Thomas and Mattie Mae Keffer. Also preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Faye and Kathy Elizabeth Keffer. He was a lifetime member of the Church of God of Prophecy and was retired from the Virginia Department of Highway with 44 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Dunford Keffer; two sons, Gene (Christina) Keffer, Russell (Linda) Keffer; a sister, Hazel (Basil) Mustard; a sister-in-law, Katherine (Henry) Hodge; seven grandchildren, Chris, Ramsey, Rachel and Rhett Keffer, William Kinzer, Rebecca and P.J. Whittaker. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate with the Rev. Billy Brown and the Rev. Tommy Gordon officiating. Burial in the Gordan Cemetery on Guinea Mt. near Pearisburg. The visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
