Robert Lee Neice Sr.

Robert Lee (Bobby) Neice Sr., 79, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at his home. Mr. Neice was born on August 24, 1930, in Bluff City and was a son of the late James Albert Neice and Bertha Mae Snider Neice. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Deloris Ann Martin Neice; two sons; two sisters; and three brothers. Mr. Neice was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Army and was a retiree of Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg and the Pilot Oil Corporation in Pearisburg. He is survived by his special little woman of 30 years, Elsie Higgs, of Pearisburg; seven daughters, Barbara Ann Gooselin, of Pearisburg, Helen Marie Walters, of Staffordsville, Sue Ellen Chinault, of Texas, Artuis Neice, of Pearisburg, Teresa Neice, of Pearisburg, Donna Higgs, of Pearisburg, and Diane Higgs, of Rich Creek; five sons, Robert Lee (Robbie) Neice Jr., of Pearisburg, Richard Wayne Neice, of Pearisburg, Thomas Clay Neice, of Narrows, Stanley Higgs, of Pearisburg, and Mark Higgs, of Pearisburg; two brothers, Joe Neice, of Pearisburg, and Lawrence Neice, of Alabama; greatuncle, Bert Farmer, of Eggleston; special little buddy, Austin Wayne Higgs; 25 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Terry Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg on Friday evening, July 9, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. Full Military Honors will be given by American Legion Post #68 in Narrows, American Legion Post #311 in Pembroke, and VFW Post #6000 in Narrows.
