Etta Rosenbaum Cassell

Etta Rosenbaum Cassell, 97, of Wytheville, Va., passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Carrie Vaughn Rosenbaum. She was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ray Cassell; and half brother, Claude P. Umberger. She is survived by her daughters and sons-inlaw, Amy and R.B. Sutherland, of Wytheville, and Deloris and Tom Wagner, of St. Louis, Mich.; sons and daughters-inlaw, Alvin and Monterey Cassell, of Wytheville, Rodney and Janet Cassell, of Austinville, and Dennis and LeJeanne Cassell, of Wytheville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010, in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Cindy Privette with the interment in the East End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home on Friday, September 3, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. or at the home of the children at anytime. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Max Meadows Fire Department, P.O. Box 434, Max Meadows, Va. 24360 or to the Marvin United Methodist Church, 646 Crawfish Road, Rural Retreat, Va. 24368 or to the charity of your choice. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
