Phillip Graybeal Obituary

Phillip Eugene Graybeal, 60, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010, surrounded by his family and loved ones after a courageous two year battle with brain cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Eugene Graybeal; and his mother-inlaw and father-in-law, Clifford and Marie Roberts. Phillip was the former Director of Internal Audit at Stellar One Bank, was a member of the Christiansburg Chapter of the Kiwanis Club, he also served his country in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Vickie Roberts Graybeal; his children, Phillip E. Graybeal II, and wife, Cindy Stinnett Graybeal, of Luray, Va., and James Thomas Graybeal and wife, Angie Criner Graybeal, of Christiansburg, Va.; grandchildren, Patrick, Rece and Bailey Graybeal, all of Luray, Va.; his mother, Lucille Morton Graybeal, of Independence, Va.; sisters, Suzanne Burton and husband, Bob, of Martinsville, Va., Beverly Dalton and husband, Roger, of Rural Retreat, Va., and Cathy Catron and husband, Mark, of Bluefield, Va.; sister-in-law, Donna Shaffner, of Christiansburg, Va.; and numerous other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Va. 24018. The Graybeal family is being served by Horne Funeral Service & Crematory. Online condolences may be sent to www.hornefuneralservice.com.
