Marjorie Huslak Obituary

Marjorie Ogden Albert Huslak, 86, of Blacksburg, passed away at the Kroontje Health Care Center, Warm Hearth Village, on May 15, 2012. Marjorie was born to the late Major Harold Ogden, U.S.M.C, and Dora (Morgan) Ogden while the family was stationed in Guam. She married John Petija Albert, and after raising five children, began a professional career in customer relations with the Sears & Roebuck Company, followed by a position on the staff of the United States Army Surgeon General. After retiring, she served for many years as a volunteer at nonprofit and charitable organizations in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Blacksburg.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Petija Albert; brothers, Victor and Morgan Ogden; and sister, Ruth Strathman.
Survivors include her children, John Richard Albert, Lawrence Stephen Albert, Gregory Ogden Albert, Mary Jean Miller, Edward Joseph Albert; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her second husband, Nicholas Huslak. Marjorie faced death fearlessly, with complete confidence in the promise of eternal life.
Visitation for family and friends will take place at Central United Methodist Church in Radford on Monday, May 21, 2012, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Blacksburg at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, with interment to follow at Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in support of their Twin Parish, and Savanette School in Pignon Haiti.
