Vera Wines Burgess

Vera Wines Burgess, 90, of Christiansburg, Va., died on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Wheatland Hills Retirement Center. She was born in Warrenton, Va., on December 15, 1919, to the late James Henry and Glenna Kerrick Wines. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer John Burgess. She is survived by a daughter, Glenna B. Simpson, of Christiansburg; and two grandchildren, Maegan C. Simpson, of New York, N.Y., and Amanda K. Simpson, of San Diego, Calif. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010, in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
