Josie Ethel Dillon Hicks

Josie Ethel Dillon Hicks, 92, formerly of Roanoke, Va., and Logansport, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born February 5, 1918, in Franklin County, Va. to Christopher D. and Esther Dillon. Josie is preceded in death by her husband, James V. Hicks; her daughter, Sandra Sterrett, four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Michael "Mike" and Susan Hicks, Fort Wayne; sister, Hazel Thompson, San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua Hicks, Matthew Hicks and Summer Baumgartner; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Hicks, Jay Baumgartner and Eli Baumgartner. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2010, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Interment to follow at Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 540-982-2100.
