Betty Jo was a pillar of Windsor Hills Baptist. She will always be associated with the Windsor Hills youth group and watched us all grow up. I saw her just six months ago when I attended church during a trip to Roanoke, the first trip back in 13 years. She was always a mainstay in the choir, and, sure enough, she was singing here that Sunday.
Hey, Betty Jo! Say "hello" to my mom and dad for me!!

Dear Bobby,
Your Mother was so dear to my Mom and I know that she , Phyllis and my Mom, Frances, are all sitting on a hillside in Heaven sharing their love for Christ and the love for their family. In your saddest times remember she is but a breath away. It is a breath that keeps us here on earth and a breath that took her home to be with the Lord. May our dear Lord be especially close to you at this difficult time and bless you with a comfort that can only be found in Him,

Betty Jo was one of the most wonderful and sweetest persons I have ever met. She always met me with a smile - I will miss that terribly! I will never forget her and I am so sorry I didn't know her longer.

I met this lady when I was 16, when I fell in love with her big brother, Leonard. That was over 65 years ago, and she always introduced me as her sister. We had a very happy time and fun together. She was a good girl and a good woman and a good human. I will miss her.

Aunt Betty Joe was one of the most kind, sincere, and wonderful people I have ever met! My first memory of her was being smothered in her warm embrace followed by a big kiss.

Pretty much every time I had the good fortune of seeing her again started and ended the same way as that time I first met her, when I was a boy.

That's how I will always remember you Aunt Betty Joe. Your smile, hugs, and kisses will be missed by many.

I love you.

Miss me, but let me go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free

Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me - but let me go

For this is a journey that we must all take
And each must go alone
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home

When you are lonely, and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me - but let me go

This message was also used at my own Father's service when He passed on to the Loard, but I know that my sweet and humble Aunt Betty Jo
would have said the same. We will all miss you dearly BJ.
