Pamela Plott Obituary

Pamela Sue Claytor Plott, 60, of Roanoke, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, April 11, 2011. She was born on February 18, 1951, in Rockbridge County, to Talmage and Marguerite Claytor, of Buena Vista. Pam will be greatly missed by her husband of almost 39 years, Harold; three children and spouses, Kelly, Josh (Jessica), and April (Matt); and four granddaughters, Bethany, Kyleigh, Alathea, and Selah. She will be remembered by her parents; sister, Barbara (Jack); brother, T.L. (Doris); and missed by numerous family members and friends. Pam was a free-spirit with a love for nature and a passion for worshipping God. Her family has fond memories of her singing while playing the piano or guitar. Pam never met a stranger and she touched many lives with her words and laughter. She delighted in seeking to encourage others through her personal card ministry. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Oakey's South Chapel in Roanoke. There will be a celebration service of Pam's life at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Church of the Holy Spirit in Roanoke. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Glasgow, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National M.S. Society or Church of the Holy Spirit are greatly appreciated.

Dear Aunt Marguertie & Uncle Dolly & Harold & Family,

We are so sorry for your loss. Even though we couldn't be with you to celebrate Cousin Pam's life, our hearts & prayers were & are still with you all. The memories continue to grow & stories to share. I know I have great childhood memories of the "3 cousins, Pam, Joyce & Nini". I can still hear that contagious laughter that she inherited from her Mom. We admired her strength. May God comfort & bless you all at this difficult time. We know you are surrounded by the love of all that know you & knew Pam.

Lots of Love, Nini & Raymond Terczak

Dolly and Marguerite,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Growing up across the street in Buena Vista she was like a member of our family and I can still remember Pam chasing my brother Randy around because of his red hair. She was always so full of life.

Harold,

Beverly and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Pam's death. She and I had spent several minutes chatting last week at Sam's memorial, and she was -- as usual -- full of herself and of life. Our thoughts are with you; your children and grandchildren; Aunt Estelle; your siblings; and the Claytors. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you or your family.

I will remember Pam for her courage during hard times and for her sweet smile. One of the greatest comments I heard about Pam was that she did not keep her love of God inside the chuch What a wonderful testimony of faith!
My prayers are with all of you.

I will miss greatly Pam's giggle and her annual call on my birthday. No one had more passion for frolic and laughter! Precious memories of times spent together at Big Mama's and Big Daddy's will always warm my heart and put a smile on my face. These remembrances time cannot diminish, but eternity will embrace. Love, "Your favorite cousin!"
