Al was the husband of my mother's sister. He and Kitty were like grandparents to my sister Shari and I for many years. To this day, I continue to think of Al as "Gramps". One of my fond childhood memories is of going to visit his family in rural Lithia VA. I never knew Hazel, but she is in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time in her life.

Our hearts are saddened to learn of the passing of our long-time friend of more than 60 years. Al and Kitty were "grandparents" to our children as well as many others at Melrose Baptist Church. We treasured their friendship, as we did Hazel more recently. Our thoughts and prayers to Hazel and the rest of Al's family. He will be missed.

It deeply saddened me when I heard that Al had passed. Al and all the other Secrist men we have lost including my Father were a rare breed. A breed I am very proud to say I am part of. I have very fond memories of Al, mostly from when I was a child. Al was an amazing man and we all loved him with all our hearts. Hazel I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
