Memories and Condolences
for Robert Hubbard

Not sure what to say?

June 29, 2010

Dear Rita and all the family of Mr. & Mrs. Robert E Hubbard. I would like to extend my heart felt los to your family. In reading Roberts obituary he had a thirst for the Love of his Lord Jesus Christ. Robert sought the Lords approval and guidance through out his walk. This speaks volumes to his character which made him interesting and an attractive person to those around him. Be assured he is sitting at a table which had been prepared for him before he was born. When you look at each other you will see bits and peaces of Robert sprinkled amongst you, it may be a smile a frown or even a laugh. So give thanks and show gratitude to the Lord for allowing Robert to be with you all the years past. Memories are but a thought away so cling to those and they will give you peace.

Always in Christ

I had mixed emotions when I heard of the homegoing of Deacon Robert E. Hubbard. I felt the pain of separation, as I knew he would not be with us on this side. I was also happy to know that, after a long life of service to God as a husband, father, grandfather, deacon, and so on, he was now absent from the body and present with the Lord. My prayers are with you - the immediate and church family of Brother Hubbard. I enjoyed being in his presence to witness his smile and experience his brotherly love. I was also challenged by his wisdom and gentleness. God's servant, Barnabas, was eulogized in Acts 11:24 by these words that I believe also speak of Deacon Hubbard - "For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." Goodnight, Deacon, we will see you in the morning!

My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of great loss. While having never met Mr. Hubbard, I feel I knew the kind of person he was as his values, teachings and love are reflected in his daughter Rita with whom I work. I can think of no greater legacy he could leave than to know that his children have all went on to be great contributors to society and will carry his love and teachings on to others long into the future. You can be sure, because of his love for God, that he is with God now and looking down and beaming with pride at the family he created and nutured and basking in the light of heaven.
For my good friend, Rita, please know that I and your fellow co-workers at Customs and Border Protection send our love and are here for you.
