Kenneth R. Cadd

Kenneth R. (Kenny) Cadd, 66, of Roanoke, passed away at home on December 16, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Cadd, of Vinton, a brother, Daniel Cadd, of Vinton and a sister, Linda Herring, of Roanoke. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 42 years, Bonnie; daughter, Leianna Minton (Ben); of Vinton; three sons, William Cadd (Doreen), of Hardy, Kevin Cadd (Cindi), of Bedford, and Melvin Cadd (Stacie), of Hardy; eleven grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Bush, of Hardy, Sandra Thomasson (James), of Hardy; one brother, Frank Cadd, of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Gerald Montgomery. Kenny served in the US Army and was a truck driver for many years. Kenny loved to go horseback riding and camping with his faithful horse, Rosie. He had a real zest for life and did his best to enjoy every minute of it. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice and nurse, Kristy Waldron, and the care he received from the VA Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at the graveside, 11 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, with the Pastor David M. Derrow officiating.
