To all the Alcorns,I was deeply saddened by the passing of my old friend, and I share in your sorrow. Our prayers and thoughts are for you in this time of grief.Richard and I had a lot of good times in our young days as youths and teenagers. We spent a lot of saturdays going to movies downtown with other guys and gals from Riverdale. We played ball in Fallon park with our Riverdale gang and we rode together to work after school at Jefferson to Double Env.,with Wayne Manning ,Dwight Myers and others.I left for the Navy after graduation and lost track with him except for seeing him occassionally around Vinton.I'm sad that we did not keep in touch. My wife Joyce worked with him at Double Env.in the 1700's.We both will keep you all in our prayers,we were deeply touched by the funeral and the memories.May God be with you all,and give you comfort and strength.

To Richard's family; I am Charlie Hammond's son-in-law. I have known Richard through Charlie for over 13 years, and when I think of him I will simply remember him as a nice and decent man. He was so good to Charlie through the years, and Charlie loved him like a brother. I'm so sorry for your loss, but so happy for Richard that he is at home and like new again.

I am so sorry for your loss. Richard is in a much better place. He fought so hard to stay here with each of you. I have never met a stronger man in my life, through all of the pain and all of the ups and downs he always maintained a positive outlook. He will be missed.
