Dorothy Gibson Obituary

Dorothy (Dot) Louise Gibson 51, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord and her baby girl, Doris Elizabeth Hogan on Friday, June 11, 2010. Also preceding were her parents, Charles W. and Myrtle Dooley Gibson, sister, Ray Lynn Gibson and brothers, Tommy J. and Charles W. Gibson. Surviving are one daughter, Stephanie D. Dunbar (Willy); one son, James W. Hogan, Sr. and wife, Christan; stepchildren, Ginny M. Dunbar (Sam), Crystal Layne and husband, Jimmy, Gayland Hogan and wife, Maddie: sisters, Debbie Dooley and husband, Roger, Donna Widener (Charlie), Ann Thomason and husband, Carl; brothers, John E. Gibson (Teresa), Bobby C. Gibson, Joe D. Gibson and wife, Brenda and 14 grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to her niece, Tammy Long and to the RMH ICU Staff on 10th floor for their care during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Stephanie Dunbar, 126 Noble Ave. N.E., Roanoke, Va. 24102. The services will be private and held at a later date. Arrangements handled by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 366.0707.
