Sandy McGlothlin Obituary

Sandy McGlothlin, 88, of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 3, 2010. He was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Alma B. McGlothlin; son, Gary McGlothlin and wife, Teresa, of Roanoke; special grandson, Harry Vaughan III (Butch) and wife, Laura, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; infant great granddaughter, Faith Vaughan; sisters-in-law, Agnes and Janice McGlothlin; and several nieces and nephews. A special word of thanks to the caring staff at Carrington Place at Botetourt for their many acts of kindness and for making Sandy and his family a part of the Carrington Place family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at North Roanoke Baptist Church, 6402 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va. 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by Dr. Darry Crim. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life".
