Kathleen Collins Obituary

Kathleen Duncan Collins, 90, of Lafayette, Va. passed away Monday, June 28, 2010. She was born September 18, 1919 in Lafayette, Va., daughter of the late David Ernest and Gay Craig Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Andrew Collins, daughter, Doris Ann Weaver and a brother, Maynard Duncan. Mrs. Collins was member of Lafayette United Methodist Church, retired from Green Hill Meat Packers and worked as a seamstress at Imperial Reading. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Andrew and Phyllis Jean Collins, David Ernest and Donna Collins and Michael Wayne Collins and girl friend, Pamela Denise Seldomridge; a sister, Beatrice Augusta Duncan; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Collins name to the Alzheimer's Association, 2728 Colonial Ave. Suite 2, Roanoke, VA 24015, 540-389-5441.
