Donald McCutcheon Obituary

Donald R. (Don) McCutcheon, 68, of Bedford, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010, at his residence. Born December 15, 1941, in Greenbrier County, W.Va., a son of the late Oran Squire McCutcheon and Mary Madeline Conard McCutcheon Overstreet. Don was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and was a retired self-employed truck driver. Don is survived by his wife of 48 years, Chrystalene; two children, Brian McCutcheon, and his wife, Susan, of Arkansas, and Terri Stuart, of Huddleston, seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lucille Martin, and husband, Louie, of Goode, Brenda Persinger, of Salem, Ada Overstreet, of Salem, Thelma Overstreet, of Roanoke; a brother, George "Frankie" Overstreet and Tammy, of Vinton; a special aunt, Juanita Gallo, and husband, Joe, of Cleveland, Ohio; numerous in-laws, Julius and Eleanor Shepherd, of Roanoke, Hilda and Joe Ed Johnson and Betty Shepherd, all of Charlotte Courthouse, Eilene and Wayne Connor and Martha Shepherd, all of Montvale, Linda Crouch and Danny Shelling, of Bonsack, Dori and Myung Kim, of Fredericksburg, Joe Shepherd, of Drakes Branch, Geneva Shepherd, of Wilsons, Rueben and Deanna Shepherd, of Duncan, S.C., Shirley and Nick Blanton of Madisonville, Lloyd and Diane Shepherd, of Keysville; dear friends, Kenneth Lotts, of Bedford, and Walter Rieley, of Thaxton; and dearest to his heart were Oktober "Okty" Rayne Liskey and Tanner Ray Stuart. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, John, Wilford, G.C. and Calvin Shepherd; and one son-in-law, Eugene Stuart. A celebration of Don's life will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, at One Faith Fellowship, Montvale, with the Rev. Dwayne Shepherd officiating.
