Mrs. Alice Allen Minter, 92, of 1112 Second St., Eden, N.C., passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at BooneReynolds Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. Minter was born in Cascade, Va., on February 17, 1918, a daughter of Eli and Elizabeth Thornton Allen, both deceased. She was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and sister. She enjoyed working outside with her flowers, taking trips, shopping, taking care of her special buddy, "Bandit;" and most of all spending time with her family. She was a very special person that always offered kind encouraging words and a helping hand. She will forever live in our hearts. She is survived by her son, Wayne Minter, of the home; her daughter, Faye Hill and husband, Russell, of Eden; sisters, Ola "Tootsie" Lawson, of Eden, and Jessie Nelson, of High Point; her brother, Theo Allen, of Ridgeway, Va.; her brother-in-law, Jack Minter of Roanoke, Va.; her grandchildren, Mark Minter, of Roanoke, David Minter, of Hardy, Va., Donna Wallace of Rocky Mount, Va., and Jan Travis, of Eden; and her greatgrandchildren, Cody, Jackson, Megan, Katherine and Will. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert H. Minter. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Boone-Reynolds Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.boone-reynolds.com.
