Allie Kreger Obituary

Allie Baldwin Kreger Jr., 84, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allie and Metz Kreger; and his beloved wife of 54 years, Doris Kreger. AI graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington and Lee University in 1950. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corp in the Pacific. AI was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and taught the John Knox Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Roanoke German Club. AI was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his children, a son and daughterin-law, Trip and Pam Kreger; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Mark Frye, all of Roanoke; and four grandchildren, Lee and Margaret Kreger and AI and Will Frye. He is also survived by his sister and her husband, Luci K. and Bob Amason, of Tuscaloosa, Ala. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Community Center, 1228 Jamison Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24013 or a charity of your choice. Dear Kreger Family,
I am so sorry to have missed your dad's memorial service because his life surely deserves celebration. He was a constant ray of sunshine on Maywood Road and a true blessing in my parent's last years.
A better man never lived and I miss him already. This is a very sad day for me.
