Bennette and Vickie,

I had such a wonderful conversation with your mother just a few days after her shocking diagnosis. She was so wonderfully calm. As sad as your loss is, and despite how difficult it is to let her go, I hope you do find comfort in knowing that she didn't have prolonged suffering and that she is now, indeed, at peace. I have very fond memories of wonderful times that we spent together in our youth. My very heartfelt sympathy goes to you both and to everyone who loved her and will miss her.

The sweetness of Annette's spirit will remain with me always. I remember her from childhood as the ever gracious and gentle cousin in the Johnson family. My love goes out to you, Bennette and Vickie, knowing that you are so fortunate to have had such a loving mother.
