Bertha Furrow Obituary

Bertha Whitlow Furrow, 84, of Rocky Mount, Va., died Wednesday, April 21, 2010. She was born June 15, 1925, a daughter of the late Emmitt and Dolly Whitlow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Stafford Furrow. Mrs. Furrow was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Surviving are her two sons, Wray Furrow and wife, Brenda, and Calvin Furrow and wife, Cyndi; three daughters, Sandra Blackstock and husband, Joe, Pat Caldwell and husband, Jim, and Goldie Potter and husband, Andy; two brothers, James Henry Whitlow and wife, Jean, and Amos Whitlow and wife, Nancy; one sister, Joyce Nadine Nelson; grandchildren and spouses, Greg and Whitney, Brad and Angela, Tony and Loretta, Jeffrey and Sylvia, Cindy and Jason, Amber, Tiffany and Tommy, Nikki and Brad, Cody, Jessica and Michael, Kasey; 17 greatgrandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Amanda Richardson. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010, from Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010, with her family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Wray and Brenda Furrow, 25 Oak Leaf Lane, Rocky Mount.

Danny talks often about coming and spending the night with Staford and Bertha when he was a small kid .Our thoughts andprayer are with you all,you all have made lots of good memories each one of you has their own special memorie.
